Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
This policy explains what information AfriScholar ("we", "us") collects when you use this website, why, and the choices you have. By using the site you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store your email address and the study level you choose, so we can send scholarship updates that fit you. You can unsubscribe at any time from the unsubscribe page or from the link in our emails.
Contact form. If you write to us, we store your name, email address and message so we can reply.
Technical data. Like most websites, our server and our hosting provider may record your IP address, browser type, pages visited and the time of your visit. We use this to keep the site secure and working.
We do not ask for passwords, payment details or national ID numbers from visitors, and we never charge application fees.
Cookies
We use a basic session cookie that the site needs to work (for example, to protect forms from misuse). Our advertising partners, described below, may also set cookies in your browser.
Advertising and Google AdSense
We show advertisements provided by Google AdSense. This is how the site pays for itself and stays free for students.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
- To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Where the law requires it (for example for visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), personalised ads are shown only with your consent.
Other services we use
This site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google when a page loads. Scholarship pages link to official third-party websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.
How we use your information
We use your information to send the newsletter you asked for, to reply to your messages, to keep the website secure, and to understand and improve the site. We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers that help us run the website and email service (such as our hosting provider and email delivery tool), or where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep newsletter details until you unsubscribe, and contact messages only as long as needed to deal with your request.
Your rights
You may ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you may withdraw your consent to emails at any time. Contact us using fabrice.mukarage@gmail.com or through our contact page and we will respond as soon as we can.
Children
This site is intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Accuracy of scholarship information
Scholarship details and deadlines change often. We check official sources regularly, but you must always confirm the details on the official website before you apply.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
